The Network for a Healthy California (Network) exists to create innovative partnerships that work with low-income Californians to increase fruit and vegetable consumption, physical activity and food security with the goal of preventing obesity and other diet-related chronic diseases. Network funding primarily supports: Local Incentive Awards, Fruit,Vegetable, & Physical Activity Campaigns and Programs (formerly California 5 A Day), and Statewide Special Projects.

Harvest of the Month is comprised of four key monthly elements: Educator Newsletters, Family Newsletters, Menu Slicks and Press Release Templates. In addition, Harvest of the Month posters may be ordered. Its objectives are for students to increase their: access to fruits and vegetables; preference for selected produce items; participation in daily physical activity; knowledge of and familiarity with California grown fruits and vegetables. Though designed for school-aged children, some aspects may serve parents and caregivers of young children.
